CNC parts support for 3-axis 4-axis 5-axis CNC machine

CNC parts support for 3-axis 4-axis 5-axis CNC machine

As we know, 3-axis machining is one of the most widely used techniques to create mechanical parts, and can be used for automatic/interactive operation, milling slots, drilling holes, and cutting sharp edges. Then what is 3-axis?

3-axis: A machine that can move a tool (commonly a spinning cutter bit) along a horizontal plane (X-axis and Y-axis) such as a piece of plywood, as well as move vertically (Z-axis) to adjust the depth of cut and carve things such as a topographical map. The adage goes that a 3-axis machine can cut valleys and carve “mountains” but is not capable of creating “caves”. You could cut parts for plywood furniture or create 3D carved signs.
Because 3-axis machining only operates on the 3 axes, it’s relatively simple and allows material to be removed in these 3 axes represented by back to front, side to side and up and down. 3-axis milling is capable of creating the same products as 4 axis and 5 axis machines, but the 3 axis machines cannot deliver the same level of detail or efficiency as its predecessors. 3 axis can cut individual features during operations, but it cannot match the work of a 5 axis in quality or profitability.

A 4-axis CNC machine operates on the X, Y and Z axes like a 3-axis machine, but it also includes rotation around the X-axis, which is called the A-axis. This is the 4th axis that’s added to our machining process. In most cases, the workpiece will be rotated to allow for cutting to occur around the B-axis.

A five axis machine starts with the same 3-axis movement as above. It adds two rotational axis by adding a “shoulder” and “wrist” or by allowing the actual workpiece to move in 2 axis. A 5-axis machine can carve a complete 3-dimensional object from a block of material. You could use a 5-axis machine to carve a bust of Beethoven for your piano.
The best CNC milling machines available today, 5 axis milling is a fast working, precise, micro machining powerhouse. 5 axis CNC is capable of cutting the most complex and tedious designs existing in the world. It can operate much faster than 3 axis and 4 axis CNC machines and provide vertical milling with the highest precision and quality available today.

Whether the machine is 3-axis, 4-axis, or 5-axis, a range of parts are necessary for your machine daily maintenance. RicoCNC can supply a wide range variety of high quality cnc spare parts, such as CNC tool holder, tool changer grippers, collets, cnc tooling system, foam cutter bits, cnc router bits and other related parts. We can provide best parts support for your machine and business.
